PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT
Therapeutic Ultrasound
Therapeutic Ultrasound is a physiotherapy treatment that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce both thermal and non-thermal effects in mainly soft tissue structures to improve healing and remodeling of injuries.
It is particularly useful in improving wound healing, remodeling scar tissue, reducing edema and soft tissue filling in limbs, improving flexibility of movement after injury and fibrosis, and treating muscle injuries. It also works well on scar tissue
I am fully certified and insured to use Therapeutic Ultrasound, I can therefore offer this as part of my massage services.
SOUNDWAVES
Therapeutic Ultrasound
What is Therapeutic Ultrasound?
Therapeutic Ultrasound is when soundwaves are used. These are absorbed by tissues within the body. The absorbtion of these sound waves causes thermal (heating) & mechanical effects. The vibration created by the Therapeutic Ultrasound causes gentle movement of fluids. This gentle movement stimulates the healing process by optimising cell function & increasing blood flow to the area being treated.
What are the benefits?
The use of Ultrasound is particularly beneficial in the breakdown of adhesions, improving soft tissue extensibility. It is also extremely good at dispersing swelling & organising scar tissue into functional directions.
